Privacy Policy
Nullbar collects no personal data. Not some data — none. This page explains why that is a structural fact of how the app is built rather than a promise you have to take on trust.
Why Nullbar cannot see your browsing
Nullbar is a Safari content blocker. It hands Safari a list of blocking rules; Safari compiles that list and applies it inside its own engine. No code belonging to Nullbar runs while you browse, and Safari never tells the app which pages you visit. The app therefore has no browsing history to store, share or sell — it has no way of obtaining one in the first place.
Data we collect
None. There is no account to create, no analytics framework, no advertising SDK, no crash reporter and no identifier of any kind.
Data stored on your Mac
Your settings — which of the six blockers are switched on, your allowed sites, and any rules you write yourself — are stored on your own Mac, in the app's container. They are never uploaded. Removing the app removes them.
Network connections
Nullbar connects to the internet for one purpose only: downloading updated filter lists. Those requests fetch a file; they carry no identifier and no information about you or the sites you visit.
Third parties
Nullbar contains no third-party SDKs. The filter lists themselves come from EasyList, EasyPrivacy, EasyList Cookie and Fanboy's lists, used under CC BY-SA 3.0. Those are data files, not code, and their authors receive nothing about you.
Children
Nullbar is suitable for all ages and, since it collects nothing, it collects nothing from children either.
Your rights
Rights such as access, correction and erasure apply to data a company holds about you. We hold none. If you write to us by email, we use your address solely to reply, and we delete the correspondence when it is no longer needed.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the revised version will appear on this page with a new date above. If a future version of the app were ever to collect anything, we would say so here and in the App Store privacy label before it shipped.
