PriceLens

Privacy Policy

What the extension reads, what stays on your device, and the only thing it ever sends.

Last updated: 29 August 2026

PriceLens is a browser extension published by BEK SERVICE LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (No. 12590587). It converts prices that already appear on a web page into currencies you choose.

The short version. PriceLens does not collect, store, transmit or sell any personal data. There is no account, no login, no analytics, no telemetry and no advertising. Nothing about the pages you visit ever leaves your browser.

What the extension reads

To find a price, the extension reads the visible text of the pages you open — in the browser, on your device. That reading is momentary and local: matched prices are wrapped so they can be hovered, and nothing about the page — not its address, not its content, not the prices found — is recorded, stored or sent anywhere.

The extension does not read passwords, form fields, cookies, browsing history, or anything you type.

What is stored on your device

Two things, in the browser’s local extension storage, on your device only. They are never synced to us or to anyone else:

  • Your settings — the currencies you picked, hover or inline mode, your card fee percentage, the sites you switched the extension off on, and the related toggles.
  • A cache of exchange rates — the rate table, and a 30-day history for the pairs whose chart you opened, so the extension keeps working offline and does not refetch rates on every page.

Uninstalling the extension removes both.

What is sent over the network

Only requests for exchange rates, and only to these services:

ServiceWhat is sentWhy
open.er-api.coma base currency codedaily fiat rates
api.frankfurter.deva base currency code; for a chart, a currency pair and a date rangedaily rates and the 30-day history
api.coinbase.coma base currency codecrypto rates — only if you switch crypto on and grant the permission yourself

These requests carry no identifier, no page address and no page content. Rates are provided by ExchangeRate-API and by Frankfurter, which publishes central bank data; each service handles requests under its own privacy policy.

The extension loads no remote code: it runs only the JavaScript shipped inside the package and reviewed by the store.

Permissions, and why each exists

  • Read the text of pages you visit — a price can be on any site, so the extension has to be able to look at the page you are on. It looks for prices and nothing else.
  • Storage — keep your settings and the rate cache on your device.
  • Alarms — refresh rates roughly twice a day in the background.
  • Access to the two rate hosts — fetch the rates.
  • Optional: api.coinbase.com — requested only when you turn crypto on, and revocable at any time in your browser’s extension settings.

Children

PriceLens is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the updated text is published at this same address before the change ships.
