Summary
Metrolux is a metronome app. It does not require an account. It does not ask for access to your contacts, photos, microphone, location, or files. Below is the full detail of the small set of data the app does collect, why, and how to opt out.
Data we collect
1. Anonymous usage analytics (Firebase Analytics)
We log a small set of anonymized events to understand which features are used and to fix bugs. Examples: app opened, metronome started/stopped, tempo changed, preset saved, settings opened. These events include feature parameters (e.g. BPM = 120, time signature = 4/4) but never personal data, never the names of your presets, and never free-text input.
Firebase Analytics is provided by Google. It uses anonymous device identifiers and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
2. Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
If the app crashes, an anonymized stack trace is sent to us via Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix the bug. Crash reports do not include personal data.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of Metrolux shows ads from Google AdMob. AdMob uses an advertising identifier (provided by your operating system) to show relevant ads and to measure ad performance. You can reset or limit this identifier in your device settings:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID / Opt out of Ads Personalization.
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track."
On iOS, Metrolux uses the App Tracking Transparency framework — you will be asked the first time the app launches.
Data we do NOT collect
- Your name, email, or contact details.
- The contents of your presets (names, tempos over time).
- Microphone or environmental audio.
- Location.
- Your contacts, photos, or files.
- Any free-text input.
In-app purchases
Metrolux is free to use. An optional one-time in-app purchase (“Metrolux Pro”) unlocks extra features such as removing ads, additional subdivisions, custom time signatures, accent patterns and sound packs. Any purchase is handled entirely by the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. We receive a transaction receipt to verify the purchase, but we never receive your payment card details.
Children
Metrolux is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us at the address below and we will delete it.
Your rights (GDPR, CCPA)
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any data we hold that relates to you. Because we do not collect personal identifiers, deletion typically means resetting the device's anonymous advertising identifier and clearing the app's local data (Settings → Apps → Metrolux → Storage → Clear Data on Android; uninstall the app on iOS). Data retention
Analytics events are retained by Firebase for up to 14 months and then automatically deleted. Crash reports are retained for 90 days. We do not store any data on our own servers.
Changes
If we materially change this policy, the version above will update and the change will be summarized in the in-app About screen on first launch after the change.
